Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the day-to-day rental counter operations by assisting customers with their equipment rental needs while maintaining a commitment to exceptional customer service.
Your Primary Job Duties:

Assist customers via phone or in-person with equipment rental needs by answering questions, communicating Swanston’s rental offerings, and fulfilling customer requests

Complete rental agreements and generate rental contracts for rental transactions

Collect and process payments for rental transactions

Assist customers in loading and unloading rental equipment
-
Update and maintain inventory spreadsheets and other rental documentation to ensure accuracy and thorough record keeping

Call current and prior customers to inquire on their rental needs for the appropriate season

Cold call on prospects sharing information on Swanston's rental equipment offerings

Demonstrate the ability to find answers for product/equipment questions
-
Learn and maintain an understanding of customer operations and equipment needs

Learn and maintain an understanding of rental equipment offerings including models, product features, safety features, benefits, etc.

Communicate product safety features, options, and varying packages to customers
-
Collaborate with service team to arrange and create work orders for necessary repair work on rental equipment
-
Act as the primary back-up to the yard specialist
-
Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned
We are looking for the following skills and qualifications in you:
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Prior work experience in a customer facing or customer service role required
-
Prior experience working with or operating compact and/or heavy equipment or knowledge of the construction industry preferred, but not required

Experience using Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel
-
Reliable with a high regard for punctuality

Demonstrated commitment to accuracy with a strong attention to detail

Exceptional customer service skills

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Effective active listening skills

Highly organized with the ability to be flexible and multitask

Exhibits respectful and considerate behavior to all customers, co-workers, guests, visitors, etc.
